Education:
Leanna Lewis graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2023 with a BS in Dance and minor in Forensic Science. She has trained in hip hop, modern, ballet, and jazz.
Dance Experience:
During her time at SIUE, Leanna was a part of the University's Dance Company under the direction of Kristin Best-Kinscherff and Omar Olivas. Leanna was also secretary of the University Dance Organization her senior year. In addition, she had to opportunity to choreograph and perform in several dance and
theatre productions.
Outside of SIUE, Leanna trained in multiple disciplinaries at Duke University's summer dance intensive, American Dance Festival (ADF), where she performed an original piece by George Staib and took classes in Afro-contemporary with Monique Haley and Foundational Hip-Hop with Rodney Hill. Since graduating, she has taught at SIUE's summer dance intensive and ZDK Arts Dance Festival in Montana.
